TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - A Corning man recently honored the victims of 9/11 in a big way, by walking 18 miles all while wearing firefighter gear.

Jason Lomeli is an 11-year army veteran. This is the second time he has made the walk.

Lomeli says he wants to make sure no one forgets the victims that passed away during 9/11.

The Sunday walk started at the "Java Lanes," bowling alley in Corning, ending in Los Molinos.

"It was something for everyone, the people that were passing by, honking, that meant something to them, it kind of reminded them of the day. For me I wanted it more of a walk a mile in their boots. The big thing that helped me as well is that my sister went with me. I also had my uncle who went a short period," Lomeli said.

Lomeli can be often spotted at his restaurant inside the "Java Lanes" bowling alley.

He hopes people will visit him there and join in his memorial walk next year.

Lomeli was able to finish the walk in a little less than six hours.
