SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - Evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings for areas impacted by the Mill Fire that is burning in the area near the city of Weed in Siskiyou County.

According to the CAL FIRE Incident Management Team, Zone SIS-5307 has been split into two new zones. The evacuation orders in these news zones, Zone SIS-5307-D and SIS-5307-E, have been reduced to evacuation warnings. These areas are open to residents only, with proof of residency and ID required to enter.

The following roads remain closed due to the Mill Fire:

The Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services says that the public needs to stay alert, pay attention, and be aware of firefighting apparatus and crews in the area for the coming days and/or weeks. Residents who are returning are urged to take safety precautions, such as wearing personal protective equipment, which entails breathing protection, proper clothing, gloves, boots, and eye/face protection.
