LOGAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Logan County Fire Association released the schedule for the 2022 Fire/Rescue School on Thursday. The educational program, which will be held September 9 – September 10, has opened registration for those who wish to attend. First responders are encouraged to attend the courses, which will be offered at the Logan Campus of Southern WV Community & Technical College at 2900 Dempsey Branch Rd, Logan, WV 25601. Information for registration can be found here . The class list for the program can be seen below: 1. Hazmat Awareness – Friday 6:00pm – 10:00pm, Instructor: Tim Arthur – LEASA, Cost: $25 2. Art of Reading Smoke – Friday 6:00pm – 10:00pm, Instructor: Darin Virag – WVPST, Cost: $25 3. Forcible Entry – Saturday & Sunday 9:00am – 5:00pm, Instructors: Ritchie Gable, Corey Carr, Cole Weese, Jacob Johnson, Cody Carr – WVPST, Turnout gear and SCBA/mask required, Price: $150 4. Low Angle Rope Rescue – Saturday & Sunday 9:00am – 5:00pm, Instructors: Bill Weese, Preston Flemings – WVPST, Helmet and gloves required, Cost $75 5. Auto Ex Awareness and Ops – Friday 5:00pm – 9:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Instructor: Bobby Boehm – WVPST, Turnout gear, gloves, and safety glasses required, Cost: $75 6. Air Evac Pre-Hospital Landing Zone Course – Sunday 1:00pm – 4:00pm, Instructor: Marty Hurley – Air Evac, Cost $25 7. Handling Flammable Liquid Emergencies – Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm, Instructor: Tim Arthur – LEASA, Cost: $50 8. Stop the Bleed – Friday 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Instructor: John Meade – LRMC, Cost: FREE – Open to the public 9. First Responders Autism Awareness – Sunday 8:00am – 12:00pm, Instructor: Julie O’Malley – Marshall University, Cost: $25 10. West Virginia Wildland Firefighting – Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm, Instructor: Jason Nelson – WVDOF, Cost $50 11. ITLS – Friday and Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm (LEASA Main Office 511 Dingess St) Instructors: Thomas Stickler – LEASA, Cost: $50 12.
