The Hemet area had a quick-moving brush fire on Monday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Let’s see Fire in Hemet today.
Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department were battling a brush fire in Hemet that started out at about 20 acres but swiftly spread to more than 700 acres and was only 5% contained as of 7:51 p.m.
Two persons have perished as a result of the fire, according to Capt. Richard Cordova of the RCFD.
Near Fairview Avenue and Bautista Road, the so-called Fairview Fire began to burn at about 3:37 p.m. among light to medium vegetation.
The foothills of Hemet Valley, south of Thornton Avenue, north of Polly Butte Road, west of Fairview Avenue, and east of State Street have all been asked to evacuate.
Later, the areas south of Stetson, north of Cactus Valley Road, west of Fairview Avenue, and east of State Street were added to the evacuation orders.
Tahquitz High School, located at 4425 Titan Trail, has a care and reception room for evacuees set up.
At least one citizen with burns to their arms, back, and face was taken to a nearby hospital.
Several residences and other buildings in the 41400 block of Gibbel Road were completely destroyed by the blaze, according to reports. The fires on Gibbel Road imprisoned a number of people, but fire crews were able to free them.

According to representatives of the Riverside County Fire Department, the Fairview Fire, which has spread to 700 acres and is just 5% contained, has claimed the lives of two citizens.
Another citizen with burn injuries was taken to the hospital.
At least seven buildings have been demolished, while numerous more have suffered damage.

Powerlines could be seen sparking in the intense heat and flames over a burning structure while Sky2’s Desmond Shaw was flying over the scene of the Fairview Fire in Hemet.

One civilian resident at least received first-, second-, and third-degree burns to their arms, face, and back before being taken to the hospital.
The Fairview Fire has reached a size of about 500 acres and is now a threat to the hamlet of Hemet, according to Captain Richard Cordova of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Four water tankers fighting the Fairview Fire from the air have been given “no divert” orders, which prohibit them from leaving the fire owing to the immediate danger to people and property.
Desmond Shaw of Sky2 reports that more aircraft are making their way to the Fairview Fire area to dump fire retardant on flames that have already consumed at least half a dozen homes.
The original evacuation orders covered areas south of Thornton Avenue, north of Polly Butte Road, west of Fairview Avenue, and east of State Street, and they have not been rescinded. Additionally, the communities south of Stetson, north of Cactus Valley Road, west of Fairview Avenue, and east of State Street are now included in the evacuation orders.
