At least 11 people are dead after a boat capsized off the coast of Puerto Rico. NBC News’ Steve Romo explains how officials raced to the scene in an attempt to rescue any survivors as the boat was filled with migrants from Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued dozens of people from a capsized migrant boat off the coast of Puerto Rico. At least 11 have died.

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies working marine patrol and the U.S. Coast Guard stopped a small migrant boat off the Florida Keys Thursday morning.

A video caught by a park-goer shows the terrifying moment when a 10-meter-high (approximately 32 feet) waterslide collapsed, sending several people crashing to the ground.
