AN IRVINE man awaits sentence for stealing a pair of trousers after he broke into a fire station.
Thomas Cuthbertson, 53, admitted a charge of the taking the single item of clothing from Ayr fire Station during a break-in theft back on September 29 last year.
Cuthbertson, whose address is listed as Girdle Toll, Irvine on the Procurator Fiscal’s criminal complaint, pleaded guilty after being accused of taking the items from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service [SFRS] base on Ayr’s Station Road, when he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week, [Monday, July 4] after earlier not guilty pleas.
The court heard Cuthbertson’s defence agent is due to obtain letters from his client GP regarding his ability to perform any unpaid work.
The case was adjourned for reports, with Sheriff McTaggart to deal with the sentencing as familiar with facts.
Cuthbertson will return to court for sentencing at a later date.
